GIDARA Energy Collaborates with Aker Solutions in Equinor's Waste-to-SAF Study

We are pleased to announce that GIDARA Energy's HTW® (High Temperature Winkler) technology for Gasification of solid waste to syngas has been selected by Aker Solutions (AKSO), as one of several suppliers, to contribute to a feasibility study for the Equinor Mongstad Industrial Transformation (MIT) project. The aim is to convert solid waste and RDF to produce SAF.

GIDARA aims to present the in-house HTW® Gasification unit as part of the study, with the intention of converting solid waste feedstock to a clean syngas. This includes the pre-treatment of waste (drying/storing) and raw syngas cleaning/treatment. The clean and green syngas will then be used to produce SAF through a Fischer-Tropsch or, alternatively, a methanol/ethanol-to-jet process.

"GIDARA Energy's purpose is to help solve humanity's waste problem, reduce CO2 emissions and thus combat climate change. We are delighted to be considered as a potential supplier to Aker Solutions and Equinor and to present our HTW® technology," said Dr. Norbert Kamp, CEO GIDARA Energy.

About GIDARA Energy

GIDARA Energy is focused on converting waste feedstocks into sustainable fuels and circular chemicals using patented technologies. GIDARA Energy's HTW® technology generates syngas, a versatile mixture capable of producing sustainable fuels such as methanol, hydrogen, methane and bio or circular chemicals. This syngas can also be directly converted into heat and power, offering additional utility for various sectors aiming to reduce fossil resource use and carbon emissions.

GIDARA Energy's objective is to meet the demand for cleaner fuels, reduce global emissions, reduce waste and create a more circular economy. With over a decade of operational success and whole value chain integration, GIDARA Energy leads in the production of sustainable energy and circular products. The HTW® gasification technology provides a cost-competitive solution, unlocking the value of waste for sustainable fuel and chemical production while prioritizing cost, energy efficiency and GHG savings.
