The value of waste gasification lies in its ability transform a major problem into an opportunity. By converting a wide range of otherwise unrecyclable waste streams into valuable products, the waste gasification pathway taps into underutilized feedstocks, it reduces landfill, cuts emissions and creates new ways to meet energy & climate goals.

Reliable revenue generation
Waste processing becomes a revenue stream, not a cost, and does so resiliently, thanks to the flexibility in acceptable feedstock. HTW offer bigger monetizable fraction: In the EU, ~112 Mt of MSW per year is suitable for biofuels (~19% of MSW). Because HTW® can process biogenic and non-biogenic residuals (including plastics), municipalities can convert a larger share of the residual stream than narrow-feedstock gasifiers, turning disposal cost into revenue.

Compliance and legitimacy
Municipalities can meet landfill reduction targets and avoid politically fraught incineration permits, improving community relations and environmental credibility. EU directives push a 30% increase in recycling/re-use by 2035; HTW® is a proven, credible route to meet that without building new incinerators: A better story with citizens and regulators.

Operational resilience
Having more feedstock options reduces vulnerability to fluctuations in specific waste streams or policy shifts affecting recycling rates. The feedstock pool is abundant (enough for 800+ 160 ktpa-feedstock plants in the EU alone) so offtake programs aren’t hostage to one waste type.
